From the Director

 For Dads Only

I know it’s usually our moms that read my little editorials. For this issue, hand it over to your husband, and read no further. You can tell him I said so.

Mother’s Day is this coming Sunday. My guess is that you know that already. Would you like to do something wonderful for your wife and your children? Dr. James Dobson says the most important thing a father can do for his children is love their mother. Of course you love your wife. You wouldn’t have married her and started a family if you didn’t. But what Dr. Dobson is talking about is demonstrating that love in such a way that your children see it. It means showing love and consideration not only when your wife is most deserving, but also, and more importantly, when she is the least lovely.

By showing  unconditional love to your wife you help your children in several ways. Recent surveys among young children reveal the greatest common fear is that parents will divorce. If children see loving parents, this fear is eliminated. By showing unconditional love you create a model for your daughters when they are choosing a husband as well as demonstrating how your sons need to treat their wives. So the next time you feel like you are sitting across from the PMS poster woman, remember how much you love her.  . It’s for the children.

Timeless Tiles

Did you miss the Spring Fling?

We can’t offer you a spaghetti

dinner but we can offer you one more opportunity to contribute to the new LACP playground equipment through the purchase of Timeless Tiles.

“Timeless Tiles” are tiles that are decorated permanently by your child.  We use these creative tiles to adorn a special border on our playground.  We invite all of you but especially those student’s leaving us for kindergarten to decorate a commemorative “Timeless Tile” for our playground.  For a $100 tax deductible gift your child can decorate their tile this summer.  Just give us a call and we’ll set aside some time that is convenient for you.  Checks are payable to LACP PTF.  Thank you for your contribution!
